Jake Whittaker

Jake Whittaker, emerging Brisbane/Gold Coast artist, is quickly establishing a name for himself in the Aussie music scene. His easy-going nature and love of his craft is always evident on stage and embraced by his audiences. Jake has a unique and varied sound in his original work. With stirrings of soul and funk, the pop/rock sounds of Jake Whittaker are groovy and melodic—quickly pulling you into the funky, feel-good beats. Jake recently released his debut EP, aptly entitled Hit the Ground Running, to a sell-out Brisbane crowd. He has just completed two Aussie tours in the past year, travelling with his band to bring his original music to the Southern and Eastern states of Australia, generating new and eager fans in each city he plays. Catch a live gig, and experience the high-energy, warm sincerity and genuine nature of this young artist and his music. Performing either solo or with his backing band, Jake’s passion is to bring his original brand of music to his live audience.

Sarah Carroll

Sarah Carroll is an original singer-songwriter, well-known for her work with The Junes, The Cartridge Family, The Pirates Of Beer and partner Chris Wilson, and most recently, Aine Tyrrell and Jackie Marshall. She specialises in country, but loves the bossa nova and has rhythm and blues in her heart!

Sarah’s music reverberates with her wide and various influences: her coastal residence, home life with family, pets and friends, touring around Australia and the USA, and many, many years in the business! She is known for her earthy, wry and heartfelt songs and calm, clear delivery.

Sarah teaches ukulele and guitar to kids and grown-ups around the Bellarine Peninsula and performs with her students at community events whenever possible. She is a tutor in the highly successful Blues Boot Camp program, now in its seventh year, which engages regional teenagers in performance and collaboration in an intensive three-day program.

In November 2014, Sarah was the inaugural recipient of the Ross Lipson Award, given to Geelong-based female musicians who have achieved excellence in their own careers and who have worked to help others along the way. Ross Lipson was director of Sweethearts, Australia’s only school-based, all-girl soul and pop band, for 25 years.

Sarah’s recent career highlights include a return visit to the USA in 2014, with Mezray Tours, where she and fellow travellers visited Nashville, Austin and San Francisco to take part in festivals and perform at clubs and on the streets. Rekindling friendships with the likes of Bill Kirchen, James Intveld, Rosie Flores and Tommy Womack made the trip an absolute delight.

Closer to home, Sarah has also enjoyed recent support spots at shows by national treasure Mic Conway, rock legend Tim Rogers, Scotland’s Eddi Reader, Canadian folk musician Old Man Luedecke and our own country songman, the great Neil Murray.
