ADIEU

Overall Concept/Theme:

“There is a wide consensus that Brisbane electronic artists keep it original, something that’s overlooked. These home grown sounds hide out in their crystal forests, projecting their vibrations and await their physical manifestation. Join us in celebrating the amalgamation of vibrations and light, where electronic, projector and graphic artists collaborate to bring you ADIEU.”

COLLABORATORS

Capre

The evolution of Brisbane based electronic duo Capre was organic in its inception, nurtured by lazy days spent experimenting with synths, guitars and kits. These preliminary sessions, full of brooding energy, paved the way for a slew of steady online releases, which quickly garnering the attention from broadcasts (SBS, HuffPost) and radio stations (Triple J, 4ZZZ). Dubbed as “intelligent beatmaking” with dreamy pads, subtle string arrangements and beautiful vocals. Drawing inspiration from their electronic roots, while also applying and embracing their love of hip-hop and rock. The result is a soulful blend of guitar haikus layered over crooning vocals, juxtaposed with provocatively rapped lyrics and progressive forms. Plug into a decent set of speakers, sit back and let Capre take you on a sonically vast expedition.

Zaped

Originally the bedroom project of Brisbane producer Jordan De Pas, Zapéd (Zar-ped) is an exploration in melody and rhythm. Evolving into what has been described as ‘future groove with intelligence and character’ Zapéd has drawn comparisons to Flume, Disclosure and Chet Faker – but retains an unmistakable r’n’b flavour underpinned by monster beats and melodic ambience.

Rahms

Scheduled to perform at Brisbane Festival, Deadlam early November, Rahms is paving the way for creativity within the upcoming Brisbane electronic scene. Having recently showcased his work at music nurturers and lovers, Barbara, we can expect original and inspired things from this local beatmaker in the near future.

Austen

Having recently lent her voice to showcases at BIGSOUND and the Gold Coast Indie Film & TV Network, AUSTEN is a name we get the feeling you’re going to get to know very quickly, if this supremely accomplished debut single is anything to go by. A glance down her very bare (for now) Soundcloud reveals a heap of influences that are present on the track, from the likes of Flume, Snakehips and Feki, to Vallis Alps and more. Faded is a cosmic future-pop banger, with silky smooth production underpinning wonderful vocals… It’s safe to say we’re crushing pretty hard right now. This is an 18+ event.
