Celebrating the musical and creative talents of South-East QLD teens is the heart of The Brisbane Teenage Fanclub. After three packed performances in 2025 at the Cave Inn, we will be celebrating our end of year party at The Triffid Beer Garden on December 7.
The Brisbane Teenage Fanclub is a new project from SugarRush Music’s Deb Suckling and Craig Spann who previously together have run mentoring programs including the acclaimed Big Sky Girls program since 2017.
This year with the assistance of The Cave Inn and Arts Queensland’s Growing Gigs Fund and Creative Australia, 15 young acts featuring 50 individual musicians and songwriters of all diversity aged between 13 – 20 have been performing to packed crowds welcoming all ages audiences.
Our end of year celebration at much loved music venue The Triffid will once again be free and all ages and features the talents of:
Massy – At 17 years of age, Brisbane-based rapper Massy has been steadily dropping tracks on Soundcloud for 18 months. Massy (pronounced Marr-Zee) is a prolific songwriter who defies his young age with thought-provoking lyrics. His upbringing, which involved moving across rural towns and bustling cityscapes, provides rich inspiration for his music.
Pointe – Angular, epic, thought provoking and inspired by acts such as Sonic Youth, Fugazi and other noise post punk artists – Pointe bring stunning ethereal vocals alongside crashing soundscapes and beats to create a sound that is all of their own.
Pearl Hart and the New Dogs – Featuring the extraordinary vocals of Pearl Hart who grew up on a steady diet of all the jazz greats, Pearl Hart and the New Dogs blend sultry, smooth and deep vocals reminiscent of the likes of Nina Simone.
Rory McKenna – Rory McKenna is a Year 10 student who as a singer songwriter spills his heart into writing about current social issues and putting them into beautifully crafted words. This is Rory’s first live performance outside of a school setting.
Ivy Kelly – At just 14 years of age, Ivy Kelly plays guitar and sings like a pro. Her original songs defy her young years. This is Ivy’s first live performance outside of a school setting.
