FAQ's
What are our sustainability practices?
We have implemented new waste management strategies including separation of all waste into: General Waste, Cardboard, Commingled Recycling + Containers for Change for all our alcohol bottles.
We have swapped to reusable plates or all our kitchen products ensuring that we are minimising our single use and waste output and continue to serve all drinks in reusable poly-ware which ensures a better experience for guests and the earth.
How we're enhancing accessibility?
The implementation of our new Accessibility tab on the main directory page of our website has made it even easier for all patrons requiring any accessibility to contact the venue and have their needs met.
The venue team handle this in house (as opposed to directing to ticketing website) ensuring patrons experience our care from booking to arrival and can have a point of contact during the event should they require any additional support.
What is The Triffid experience?
Always, The Experience. The Triffid strongly values integrity – we care about the experience & atmosphere. We pride ourselves on being artist focussed, environmental warriors, and showing leadership within the community.
The Triffid is a destination for diversity, a home for all demographics. We believe in fostering a vibrant community united by the love of music.

Can I catch public transport?
No one likes driving around for hours looking for a park. Public transport to the venue is a good option. That way you can also relax and have a few cheeky beverages.
It’s a 100m walk to the Commercial Road CityGlider bus stop that provides high-frequency, 24-hour transport on Friday and Saturday, and 18-hour services from Sunday to Thursday. Buses on this route go to and from West End, South Brisbane, the CBD, and Fortitude Valley and Teneriffe.
Where do I catch a Taxi?
If you want to go old-school, there’s a cab-rank on Commercial Road, a 100m walk away, or you can jump in an Uber (Or dad’s taxi) right out the front.
Can i use e-tickets?
We’re all for saving the trees, so brownie points if you bring your ticket on your phone. Our dedicated door staff will love you even more if you turn your brightness up prior to scanning!
Where do I park my car?
We recommend ditching the car so you can have a bevvy in The Triffid Garden. But if you’ve been dragged into deso – there’s limited street parking around Newstead or you can pay for parking at the Gasworks. Paid parks are from 7am-7pm, and unmarked spots are generally 2 hours free parking.
Is there wheelchair access?
The Triffid has wheelchair access at street level. There are no steps at the entrance of the building so patrons in wheelchairs have full access to the ground floor of the building, which includes the Beer Garden, Live Room and wheelchair amenities. However, The Triffid also has a mezzanine level that overlooks the Live Room, and this is only accessible by stairs (there is no lift).
Wheelchair Parking
The Triffid doesn’t have its own car park on premises, so those looking for wheelchair parking will need to park on the street in the surrounding area utilising Brisbane City Council’s pay-and-display system during the day. At nighttime parking is not an issue as all surrounding streets have signed spaces, just make sure you pay close attention to the signage.
What proof of id do I need?
To gain access to The Triffid for all ticketed shows you must provide one of the following forms of ID:
- An adult proof of age card (e.g. Australia Post Keypass identity card) – must be valid/in date
- Australian driver licence or learner permit – must be valid/in date
- Passport (from any country) – must be valid/in date
What if i am under age?
If you’re under 18, you’re unable to attend shows in the The Triffid live room, even when accompanied by a parent or guardian (unless otherwise explicitly stated in the announcement of an all ages show). Don’t worry, when you’re older, you’ll wish you were young again.
Under 18s are permitted in the The Triffid Garden until 10pm only when accompanied by a parent or responsible guardian. And no, that crazy uncle doesn’t qualify as ‘responsible’.
All Ages Shows:
If you have an over 18 licensed downstairs ticket, then this means that you must be over 18 as you will be entering the licensed area where alcohol is served. If you are under 18 and cannot provide ID with your ticket then you will be refused entry.
The unlicensed all ages upstairs mezzanine ticket (for all ages, including U18’s) gains you access to the mezzanine area where there is no alcohol being served. You can be any age and purchase a ticket here.
Both ticket categories must stay in their respective areas due to capacity reasons.
Ticket allocations are subject to change. The all ages section is located on The Triffid Mezzanine and has a set capacity. If you are under 18 you are required to have an all ages ticket. Parents accompanying an AA patron also require an All Ages ticket, please note no alcohol is sold on the mezzanine and cannot be brought upstairs. Children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult and children under 3 do not require a ticket.
Triffid Ticketing Age Policy (AA Shows):
0-2 – No Ticket purchase required, The Triffid recommends bringing ear protect for infants. Must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian at all times. =
3-12 years – Ticket Purchase required. Can attend if accompanied by a Parent/Guardian at all times
13-17 years – Ticket Purchase required. Can attend approved events unaccompanied by a Parent/Guardian

Behaviour
The Triffid is an inclusive and fun place for all guests. Somewhere you can chill out, relax, have a bevvy, hang with your doggo, and see live music – so we ask that you respect other guests and staff at all times. In other words, don’t be a dickhead.
Physical or verbal aggression will not be tolerated and result in an immediate removal from The Triffid. This includes unwanted sexual attention, behaviour or assault. If at any time you feel uncomfortable at The Triffid please approach our friendly bar staff.
Dress code
Please dress appropriately to enter The Triffid. The dress standard may vary from day to day, but you can be pretty sure that if you try to get in wearing Crocs you won’t meet the dress code.
We don’t support any of the collared shirt, dress shoe rubbish. Wear whatever you want just make sure you’re wearing clothes (Nobody wants to see that Barry) and enclosed shoes and you’re sweet.
Right to refuse entry
The Triffid management and/or security reserve the right at their sole discretion to either refuse entry, request patrons to leave the premises or refuse service of alcohol should patrons not comply with The Triffid policies.
The world’s alcohol supplies aren’t drying up—so don’t act like they are. Drink responsibly.
