Following a successful run of shows celebrating renowned artists including ‘REM: The Ones We Love’ (featuring Jeff Martin – Tea Party) and ‘A Tribute to The Smiths’ (featuring Steve Kilbey – The Church), The Exploding Boys announce their next special event to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Cure’s breakthrough album, “Disintegration”.

“Disintegration: A Celebration of The Cure” features an all-star cast of performers including Katy Steele (Little Birdy),  Ashley Naylor (Even), Trish Young (The Clouds), Ashley Rothschild (Caligula), and David Challinor (Sounds Like Sunset). Songs to be performed include the original vinyl release of “Disintegration” as well as a vast selection of The Cure’s greatest hits from a catalogue stretching back to the 1980’s.

Backing band performing for this amazing show will be The Exploding Boys, featuring current and ex-members of Died Pretty, Glide, Knievel, Scarlet, and Copperline.

“Disintegration” was The Cure’s commercial peak charting at number 3 in the United Kingdom and at number 12 in the United States. Several hit singles followed including “Lovesong” that peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It remains The Cure’s highest selling record to date with more than 3 million copies sold worldwide. It was greeted with a warm critical reception before later being acclaimed, eventually being placed at number 326 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic called it the “culmination of all the musical directions The Cure were pursuing over the course of the ’80s”.
