Our Beer Garden is open for food and drinks from 12noon.

The Triffid has just turned two and is already one of Australia’s most loved live music venues for punters and artists alike.

For our first year the Triffid garden was home for the much-loved Triffid Roots we worked alongside Sarah Howells to ensure that our Sunday session was second to none.

The summer of 2016/2017 will see The Triffid re-invent our Sunday sessions.

Based on a passion for spirited acoustic music we have partnered with the Americana Association of Australia for present AMERICANA SESSIONS FREE EVERY SUNDAY IN THE TRIFFID GARDEN.

Every Sunday lovers of Folk, Country, Rhythm & Blues, Blues and Rock and Roll will be presented with some of the most respected artists around. This will all be happening in relaxed surrounds of the Triffid garden with a brand new menu for the foodies and plenty of other musical and beverage surprises.

HEARTWORN HIGHWAY

After a series of movements around the globe, bands coming and going, and the beginning of families, Diego Zaragoza and Trent McNamara crossed paths in Brunswick Heads NSW. They spent the better part of a year playing guitars on verandas, singing harmonies to old favourites and crafting a sound of their own, melding their country, bluegrass and americana backgrounds together into a couple sets of finely honed, harmony laden songs.

With the addition of double bassist Al Brooker (Paul Kelly and the Dots/Nick Barker) and recently joined fiddler/vocalist Maria Stratton (EMI – Forgiveness) the band has fleshed out their sound, and the Heartworn Highway family is complete.

Heartworn Highway’s debut record, recorded with local legends Michael Stavrou (AIR Studios, London 1974-1980)  and Jo Dreyer (SAE Institute) live to 2 track tape using circa 1940s microphones and mostly recorded outdoors, documenting the band’s progression from duo to trio to 4 piece is now available for purchase on vinyl only. So dust off grandma’s old turntable and dip your fingers into the honey pot of this labour of love.
