Join Melody Graves & the Hokum Redemption for a series of Sunday sessions of music in good company with some of their favourite performers in the Triffid Garden!
2PM – 5PM | FREE ENTRY | FAMILY & DOGGO FRIENDLY.
Your hosts MELODY GRAVES & THE HOKUM REDEMPTION bring their red-hot swinging jazz & blues, with not one, but two lead vocalists, a sliding trombone, the rattle of the washboard, the sweetest sounding swing guitar this side of the Pacific, and a rhythm section guaranteed to get you moving in time.
SUNDAY 3RD DECEMBER
LITTLE MEL & HARVEY BLUES – Brisbane blues and jazz guitar legend Harvey Blues (Blues Arcadia, the Keitels) and soulful jazz chanteuse Little Mel (Yas Queen, Warm Guns). With Little Mel’s powerful but sweet vocals and Harvey’s masterful guitar playing a classic blues ballad or an upbeat swing tune, their chemistry, musicianship, and stage presence are nothing short of electric.
SUNDAY 10TH DECEMBER
DENNIS DUIGAN DUO – Dennis Duigan picks and hollers songs of broken love and enduring sorrow. His tales are cast over a layer of Americana flavoured roots-music featuring twanging banjo, slapping bass and lonesome warbles. Dennis is joined by Bayden Mitchell on double bass.
SUNDAY 17TH DECEMBER
THE RESONATOR CONE BOYS – The Cone Boys conjure vintage allure, harmonizing early Jazz, blues, and Rags from the early 1900’s. Their twin resonator guitars echo with bygone melodies, the clarinet whispers hints of yesteryears, and upright bass swings like a seaside palm. Let their music transport you with a subtle breeze from days of yore.
