TRIFFID ACOUSTICS – ACOUSTIC SONGS TO KEEP YOU GOING EVERY WEDNESDAY

DOOLIE

Hailing from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, alt-pop songstress DOOLIE, created a stir from her well-deserved win at the 2016 Queensland Music Awards, and landing herself as a ‘finalist’ in the Most Promising Female Songwriter category, triggering interest from major influencers and tastemakers in the industry ever since.

2016 not only saw DOOLIE complete her final year of high school, she also racked up some street cred having worked with gifted producer/sound engineer: Elliot Heinrich (AYLA, Battleships, Pop Cult, Tempesst), releasing her award-winning debut single; Pristine. She soon followed up with a second single: Exhale, that was shortlisted on 4ZZZ’s Hot 100 and released a music video of the same song that received airtime on MTV and ended the 2016 year with an ACS Gold Award, further affirming her talent as an artist to watch.

On the live music scene, DOOLIE showing signs of a great frontwoman, performs as a three-piece band to deliver a polished set of strong and percussive original alternative-pop songs. Elevated to a higher level with her impressive and powerful vocal range, these performances have caught the attention of booking agents and local festivals adding her to their line ups.

DOOLIE kicked off 2017 with a mini tour, launching the Exhale single/video release at venues on the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and continues to impress audiences through her live performances. The coming twelve months will see her writing, recording and releasing a series of new singles.

In less than twelve months, she has fast garnered recognition with her 2016 releases and it’s now time to add Brisbane’s Doolie to the ever-growing list of wunderkind musos. (Jack Doonar, AAAbackstage, Feb 2017)

“…Doolie’s obviously got the vocal chops to pull off soulful pop songs…”
(Dave Ruby Howe, TripleJ Unearthed, Aug 2016)

“Both ‘P R I S T I N E’ and new single ‘Exhale’ are comparable to works [by] artists such as Ngariie, and most definitely Emma Louise…

… As an artist only scratching the surface of her impending music career, she’s already discovered and developed a discernible ‘Doolie’ sound; rather than experimenting or uncertainly dipping her toes into different genres, she has instead found her strengths and hit the ground running with them”.
(Gabrielle Vacher, Scenestr, Jan 2017)
